So many different, creative, homemade flavors to choose from! Ordered two scoops of Rose Petal for myself, a bit disappointed that it tasted predominantly like mango. Had a few bites of Crack, too, and despite its creaminess still found it to be pretty bland. Sorry, but this place is a tourist trap. The most interesting part about The Ice Cream Store is that they offer a Ghost Pepper flavor, which requires you to be 18+ and sign a waiver.

This is a hole in the wall shop with the most amazing assortment or flavors. I haven't gone too far off the beaten path in terms of flavors but have fond memories of their salted caramel and "third trimester". Their variety is overwhelming but worth searching and sampling to find the right choice. There is almost always a line but they have a ton of staff moving as quickly as they can to move it along and its a great people watching spot. We don't visit this area without a stop here. Plus they have a self service sprinkle bar!

My family just happened to come across this ice cream place while exploring the boardwalk at Rehoboth beach. Of course the most appealing factor was the fact of the 100's of different ice cream flavors and different choices they had! Many of the flavors were homemade giving an extra appeal to them. In addition, their creative names can give a good laugh. I tried three different flavors that day, "I Don't Give a Fork" "Stifler's Mom" and "Hella Good Lavender". Among these, I'd say "Hella Good Lavender" was really hella good and interesting taste It's a very strong lavender taste with some of the actual flower in it! And although some might think it would taste bland or herby, the ice cream was just the perfect balance of sweet and lavender XD If I ever visit Delware again, this is the way to go for ice cream *3*

Excellent ice cream, long lines, and too high prices. Interesting and fun flavors but $5 per cone is too much. African vanilla is particularly delicious.

OH MY.... This was hands-down the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. Tried Lucky Charms (incredible) & Peanut butter Oreo (spectacular). The best thing about this place is that their ice cream in general is very tasty. It's very creamy and super fresh. They have SO many flavors but I'm willing to bet majority of them are delicious. Get there early...the line gets very long but it's worth the wait.

The line was long meaning it has good business. It was long but service was quick. I got the #On Fleek which was very good. Had a cinnamon taste to it. My sister got the Booger ice cream. Although it doesn't sound too appealing, it was very delicious. The green caramel was great. I highly recommend stopping by during your trip. I will be returning to the store every time I visit Rehoboth. 100/10.

Homemade Ice Cream with TONS of creative flavors. Free sprinkle bar. This is the best place for ice cream at the beach.

You really have to see it. Got to be one of the greatest ice cream joints on the face of the Earth. You walk up to see the dizzying array of color panels representing the multitude of flavors. You'd be hard pressed to dream up one they haven't already. They wisely installed a flavor roulette wheel on the counter to help people decide. Not a problem for me. One taste of the Salted Caramel and it's all she wrote. Amazingly, they're not just about variety. The quality is also exquisite. You can get your order in a freshly made waffle cone, waffle bowl or regular cup and there's a big topping station out front. But they don't stop at ice cream. There are smoothies, water ices and any milkshake imaginable or unimaginable. Being a less than perfect world, on three occasions (in the last two years) they were out of my flavor. And, on the last occasion they did have it; it was different- less flavorful, less salt, less caramel. I've got my fingers crossed this was just an aberration.

Long lines but it moves quickly, some really indulgent flavors. Great quality and friendly staff. Had the Carmel river, with tons of Carmel flowing through the ice cream, Stifler's Mom was awesome, slight heat from the chilis was a great touch! Wife had the elderberry ice cream, flavor of the month very subtle flavor but clean, cold and refreshing. Going to try the ghost pepper ice cream next time I am in town! Gotta sign a waiver so you know it's good.

Amazing. The ice cream is plentiful and the flavors seem endless. A bit pricey for some, but well worth it. Very high quality.

Super delicious ice cream. Line moves very quickly. Many times we walked right up (let's be honest... we hit this place like once a day). Free sprinkles!! My 3 year old would give 7458765 stars just for that alone.

Great ice cream, helpful and friendly service. A fun place to go. I especially recommend the bacon ice cream!

  • Maria-Elena T.

Despite the daunting line, we were served relatively quickly. I ordered three flavors in a waffle cone. The cone was excellent- crisp. I went with 2 known sand 1 unknown. My 2 known Flavors were banana and chocolate peanut butter cup. Both were excellent and quickly devoured. My unknown was a Midnight Caramel River which consisted of vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate ice cream with caramel through it. I was disappointed. I didn't taste caramel enough; it was ordinary. And this cost one star. Otherwise this place would be 5 stars and on a danger list of places to avoid if dieting.

  • Dan D.

The ice cream is probably the best I have ever had. Thankfully they made a mistake and my friend brought me that mistake because I was not in the mood for ice cream. I will always be in the mood for ice cream if and when I am in the area. Excellent spot.

  • Adam K.

Mind-blowingly-good ice cream. I got the cookies and cream and it was all I ever wanted in life. They have crazier options that are apparently equally as good since people were ordering them non-stop. This was some of the best ice cream I've ever had, and I've had my fair share of ice cream.

  • Daniel T.

This place has 100+ flavors. Take your time to check out the options available or spin the wheel if you can't decide! I went with the tiramisu ice cream the last time I visited. It was really good. Home made and tasted of good quality. This place is very easy to find and it's in the center area of the boardwalk - high traffic area.

  • Joy G.

Some of the best ice-cream EVER! So many flavor choices... and a few to raise some eye brows, like Bacon ice-cream. I got the Corn ice cream. It was creamy, sweet and delicious. This is real gourmet ice-cream, much better than what you'd expect from a Boardwalk food stand. Udderly delicious indeed!

  • Liz S.

Delicious! So good that I went 2 nights in a row. I recommend "crack" and "better than sex" in a waffle cone... The sugar cone my 2nd trip was a bit stale.

Hands down, the best ice cream store in the world. I'm so glad I discovered this place!!! The Ice Cream store is truly one of a kind. With crazy flavors like "scorpion sting," "cereal killer," and "the ice cream your parents warned you about," you really can't go wrong. I have a few favorites: Pistachio Cardamom Honey- African vanilla with cardamom spice (from India) with a touch of Orange Blossom honey and Pistachio. My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Store!- Blue Ribbon Milk Chocolate ice cream with Madagascar vanilla extract. A ribbon of milk chocolate runs throughout. Junk in the Trunk- African vanilla ice cream with brownie pieces, pretzel pieces, crushed Oreo cookies, and pieces of white chocolate and dark chocolate. Third Trimester- Peanut butter ice cream with bananas and chocolate swirl. If you go the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend, you can try all their flavors and vote on your favorites! I can't wait to go back next time I'm at the beach.

Awesome awesome selection and variety. The ice cream itself is of good solid quality but certainly not the greatest. However, the flavors and combos make it a lot of fun and we've never not loved whatever we end up choosing. They also let you go to town with sprinkles and service is friendly and quick. A must-do for each beach trip

My favorite ice cream place down by the shore! So many flavors to choose from and the staff is always fun. Long lines during the summer but definitely worth it!

Man, I love this place. In terms of food, this place will be what I miss most when I go home from beach vacation. I love ice cream, and they have FANTASTIC ice cream. not super hard or super soft; it's the perfect consistency. In addition to the superb quality of their ice cream, their menu is VAST and features a ton of highly inventive flavors and nicknames. I was able to come here twice on my vacation, each time ordering three different flavors in one of their delicious waffle cones. Believe me, coming here twice barely scratches the surface of the near-infinite possibilities of this place! Here is what I would rate the flavors that I got on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most perfect ice cream imaginable. 1st visit Booger(green colored vanilla with caramel and marshmallow bits)-6.75/10 This Ish is Off the Hook(Crack ice cream with mini chocolate chips, brownie pieces, pecans, crushed Oreo cookies, and caramel swirl)-8.5/10 Peanut Butter with Caramel Brownies-6.75/10 2nd visit Buttery Salted Caramel(Caramel praline pecan ice cream made with salted butter and sea salt)-9/10 Repeat-This Ish is Off the Hook(Crack ice cream with mini chocolate chips, brownie pieces, pecans, crushed Oreo cookies, and caramel swirl)-8.5/10 Samoa-8.5/10 I got a little skimped on my second visit; the buttery salted caramel basically was a half scoop. But I love this ice cream so much it still gets five stars! :)

3.5 stars... On a boardwalk full of ice cream places, The Ice Cream Store is by far the busiest. It's not that the quality of the ice cream is significantly superior, at more than $5.50 for two little scoops the value certainly isn't there, it's purely the variety. They have about a 100 or so ice cream flavors in addition to the sundaes, shakes, and other offerings. Half of their flavors are homemade and the other half are Hershey's. They charge a little more for the homemade flavors which is unusual but understandable. The flavors they have are amazing, some you've never even imagined (like white wine, bacon, and mountain dew just to name a few). They let you sample whatever you want and I made it a habit to try at least two every time I passed the place. If you're with one or two people and can actually agree on a flavor, go with a pint, it's only like 70 cents more than a couple little scoops so the value is much better. Here's the ones I ordered (or at least sampled): -Crack: delicious and simple, tasted like a subtle vanilla with a touch of salt -Better than Sex: first of all, no. second of all, it was good, it was like a subtle chocolate with a chocolate swirl and bits of something crunchy -Delaware Peach: subtle peach flavor, refreshing summertime flavor -Banana Pudding (Hershey's): exactly the way you'd want it to taste -Cookie Dough Rock Slide: cake batter ice cream with fudge swirls, cookie dough, and peanut butter. This was was far too sweet and didn't have enough peanut butter to even it out. It was also served a little too soft -Nutella: sounds amazing but it just didn't taste like the addictive spread -Fresh Corn: sounds weird but corn works well in sweets. It was a very subtle corn flavor, could have been more pronounced -Bacon: it was really vanilla with pieces of bacon in it, you really couldn't really taste the bacon, even when you're chewing a piece of it. -Green Mint Chocolate Chip with crushed Oreos and cookie dough: could really use a creative name but it was my favorite of the bunch, a great combo of flavors and textures.

The only problem was the poor service, which I think was particular to my server, who seemed to be annoyed at me when I was ordering, but the other staff seemed nice. Otherwise, any flavor of ice cream you could possibly think of they have here. Between bacon, ghost pepper (which comes with a waiver), and vanilla, they have it all. They have creative names, including their addictive "crack" ice cream, which is actually sea salt caramel. I got a "deep dark chocolate" shake with some peanut butter mixed in. The location was great. There was live music playing in the town circle and it's very close to the boardwalk. This spot also usually has a pretty long line, but many staff to account for it. The long line might be because this place has appeared on the Today Show and the Food Network.

I have been coming here regularly every time I have stayed in Rehoboth Beach. This is where you go for ice cream in Rehoboth Beach. End of story. Not Cold Stone, Not Baskin Robbins, Not Dippin Dots, Not some other soft serve mumbo jumbo.. you come here... cause it is truly the most unique experience, with a real family business and some of the most inventive ice cream flavors known to man. in fact the last time I even went anywhere ELSE for Ice cream such as the Cold Stone, the employees sang for tips, and basically whimpered singing the Flintstones theme song jingle with a pathos of... please kill me I hate this job. Then of course there is the plethora of being served by young Easter Europeans and a smorgasborg of teenage first year college bound seasonal summer workers with the best funky accents. Relish as Tilda from Lithuania gets you Beer ice cream (made with Dogfish Head 60 IPA), or Kalachko from Slovenia whips you up a waffle cone served with motor oil. And the great thing is, you can sample ANYTHING before you buy!!! Which is great when a flavor name is kind of scary such as: "looks like Viagra". The flavors here are some of the most unique and great tasting I've had, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Amaze yourself as Jakob, pronto stat slings you some Bacon Maple with Jack Daniels. Corn ice cream, Nutella, Booger, Multiple different cake batter ice cream flavors... on and on and on... Helga there suggests the sugar cone for the Junk In The Trunk.. so don't mess with her cause she knows best. Never mind Ghost Pepper ice cream, with a dash of Romanian pride. All the while this all happens as locals, and the like, and the kids cavort and raid the sprinkle stand. Free sprinkles. It's a friggin rainbow. Right there. All you want, IN YOUR FACE BABY!!! devour them sprinkles. You will never have an ice cream experience like this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD I friggin GUARANTEE! When you are standing around a guy with a thick Jersey accents is screaming, HEy CAn I get "My Milkshake Brings All the Boys To the Store!!" I SAID CAN I GET MY MILKSHAKE BRINGS ALL THE BOYS TO THE STORE?!?! while Olga patiently smiles and says that will be $3.50, and you are devouring your waffle cone combo of Third Trimester, Peeps, Pop Rock, and Mayan Chocolate Cinnamon... you know there is no other place in the world to be.

Tons of flavors and all good! Had the salted caramel and kids got almond coconut and strawberry cheesecake.

All the reviews are legit. The ice cream here is beyond amazing. Let your inner fatty loose on these amazing flavors. I mean, how come cake batter cookie dough isn't a regular flavor in the grocery aisle?!?! The flavor names are hilarious but don't be fooled. The flavors are no joke. Ridiculously good!!! I got the cake batter cookie dough, crack, and best sex ever in a waffle cone for $5.99?!?! I mean, whaaaaaatttt? I was blown by the entire experience. Do not bother with soft serve ice cream or gelato at the beach. This is the only ice cream dessert you need to be concerned with at Rehoboth Beach. Period.

Pistachio cardamom honey was good but not a good value at $7 a cone.

If you are an ice cream fan, this is definitely a place you'll want to visit if you get to the Delaware beach area. In the summer months you can't miss it, just look for the huge crowd of people out front. Don't let the mob of customers scare you off, the service is fantastic. There are employees who navigate the crowd, ready to answer your questions and bring you as many sample spoons of the wild flavors they offer as you request until you've made your choice. Most likely you'll have a chance to order before you've even read all the colorful and crazy names of the flavors they offer (flavors you will not find anywhere else). It is NOT an easy decision, they offer every flavor you can imagine (like cake batter with Reese's cups), and some you'd probably never imagine (like bacon de leche, booger, beer, sangria... ) Some of my personal favorites have been: "Crack" [Brown Sugah Vanilla ice cream with pasteurized egg yolk, butter, and sea salt.], "Milk Chocolate Crack", "Cookie Monster" [Blue colored cotton candy flavored ice cream, with crushed Oreo cookies and pieces of chocolate chip cookie dough] and "Better Than Sex" [cake batter ice cream with Duncan Hine's Devils Food Cake Mix and African vanilla extract mixed in. Crunched up Heath Bars are added to the mixture and fudge is ribboned throughout. Won 3rd place ribbon at the 2009 Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival. 1st place at the May 2009 customer tasting party!]. If you'd like to see more flavors, check them out on the web: rehobothbeachicecream.co… This place is worth a special trip, I highly recommend it, any time I am anywhere close I make sure to make a stop here, you will not be let down.

Addicted to crack because of this place. This is just ice cream, but they have as many flavors as ice cream as you can imagine. Young and old will love this place. They also have a good sense of humor. Its the perfect place during your trip to the beach.

    (5)
  • Christine H.

The worst part about this place is making a decision because there are so many options. But once you've decided, you won't be disappointed. The ice cream is delicious and they offer free sprinkle toppings. The service was also great. Try the Crack flavor!

  • Jen S.

I am lactose intolerant and eating dairy for me basically means nothing but digestive pain for a day or two, but this place was worth it. Two nights in a row I had the pumpkin pecan ice cream. Fall season in my mouth. Absolutely delicious, wish I could have taken a whole tub home. They have so many flavors that it would be senseless to walk by this place and not try one. This is a must go to!!

Buttery salted caramel. OMG. So unbelievably good. 150+ flavors of some really cool and weird combos. The line is totally worth the wait.

Quite daunting. The list of flavors stretches out across the entry. Take ur time and read them all. Had the Samoa. Tasted close enough to a girl scout cookie

This place is so much fun. Like, seriously. First, the location is prime. It's one of the first shops off the boardwalk on the main drag that is Rehoboth Avenue. The traffic around this place, whether it be joggers, walkers, strollers, dogs, drunks (usually only at night).. is crazy. But that only makes it more fun because you'll definitely get your people watching fix while you wait in the undoubtedly long line. Plus, you almost need the extra time to peruse the crazy-awesome list of flavors. You have to give it to a place that offers wacky options that are also very delish. You also have to give it to a place that makes you sign a waiver if you're going to try an ice cream flavor that will almost certainly burn a hole in your stomach. I'm always up to try insane new things, so on my first visit my sis and I opted to taste a spoonful of their Ghost Pepper ice cream. After signing our lives away we were handed taster spoons that held no more than a teaspoon of what looked like vanilla ice cream. I was expecting to see little specs of something to hint at the fire that was about to start in my mouth, but nope! So we looked at each other and giggled at our bravery (foolishness) and then went for it. By "went for it" I mean I only took the smallest, microscopic taste from the end of the spoon. But yep, that was all I needed to get an idea of the level of heat packed into this stuff. The very first thing I noticed was the sweetness from the ice cream, not any particular flavor of sweetness like vanilla or whatnot, just sugar sweet. That only lasted for maybe half a second because right after, the heat kicked in, the kind of heat that doesn't necessarily burn off your tongue but instead severely warms your mouth/stomach the way certain strong alcohol does. Ever taken a shot of Bacardi 151? Yeah, like that, with added heat. It was a total blast coming to this place and considering it's the beach and there are a ton of ice cream joints, it's fun to see something like this in the mix.

I don't really get the hype of this place. It's very crowded and disorderly. People just keep gathering around the list of 100s of ice cream flavors and it's hard to tell where the line is and who is on it. As far as the flavors themselves, I don't particularly need to have bacon ice cream or an ice cream called booger, better than sex, crack, etc. What happened to chocolate and vanilla?

    (2)
  • Eileen S.

Kooky flavor names like "better than sex", "booger" and interesting flavors including "ghost pepper"! Bacon lovers can rejoice and have their fill with bacon ice cream. Great place to sample some interesting flavors. Can't say that I was bold enough to sample the ghost pepper flavor but I did get a chance to sample some tasty ice cream and walked away with a delicious cone of "serious chocolate addiction". Yum!

  • Amanda B.

This place was crazy! Choosing one flavor from the list of 100 was SUPER HARD. But I did it- I went with Samoa. Chocolate ice cream with caramel and coconut. It did not disappoint. It was busy, as it always looked to be, but the line moved right along and you can taste flavors. There's even a little toppings bar where you can put on your own sprinkles. (yes, they're sprinkles, NOT jimmies.) My only regret is that I only visited once.

    (4)
  • John Q.

This place seriously has over 100 ice cream flavors. It's overwhelming but amazing. It was packed when we went but the line moves quickly and they have staff moving through the lines asking you if you want to sample anything before you order (awesome idea) They have ice cream that's called "Better than Sex". It's cake batter ice cream with Devil's Food Cake Mix, Heath Bars, and fudge swirled throughout. It's not really better than sex but it's pretty darn close. Also a plus, they have Butter Brickle ice cream which is scarce nowadays and also happens to be my favorite ice cream flavor. A+ for creativity, efficiency, and darn good ice cream.

  • Zach P.

This isn't the place you go to get "just chocolate or vanilla" ice cream like some reviewers seem to want to do. There are many, many other ice cream places on the boardwalk and right down the street where you can do that (read, Kohr's - I think they only have 4 flavors there). This is where you go to get the coolest (no pun intended) ice cream in southern DE. The cashiers are all very friendly (albeit mostly foreigners) and the flavors are all very tasty. I haven't tried one that I haven't liked. If you can't decide what flavor you want, they even have a flavor called "I Can't Decide." The Ice Cream Store has you covered. The sidewalk in front of the place is usually packed with people which can make for a wait, but considering the sheer volume of flavors offered, it makes sense that it's so busy. There is a "sprinkle station" next to the counter windows with basically every color and type of sprinkle imaginable. I used some to top the cake batter ice cream I chose the last time I was there. Truth is, I've lived in Delaware all my life and I've been here countless times. The number of flavors has grown but the quality, friendliness and atmosphere haven't. It's a great place to cool off on a hot day.

I just had ice cream from this place and it is now one of the highlights of coming to Rehoboth Beach. There are so many flavors to choose from that it can be very overwhelming. You're allowed to sample flavors. I wish they could provide me with a sample of each flavor. I would have no need to get any ice cream after that. On a typical night, there is usually a crowd standing on line and everyone seems puzzled and confused about what flavors to order. I ended up ordering a double scoop with Cake Batter and Red Velvet Cake. I've always loved Cake Batter since I had it at Cold Stone, but somewhere along the way Cold Stone's Cake Batter flavor fell off. I think it happened when they had to make changes due to someone catching salmonella. *Message to the person who got sick - Thanks to your weak stomach my favorite flavor is no longer the same.* Along comes The Ice Cream Store with cake batter the way it should taste. My taste buds were filled with joy. I love red velvet cake, so I figured the flavor wouldn't be bad. I was thoroughly surprised. It was amazing. There is literally chunks of red velvet cake in the ice cream itself. The person who thought of this is a genius. As I'm writing this, my stomach hurts because I'm full from dinner and dessert, but it was well worth it. I had to please my inner fat man. If you love ice cream, you have to come here if you plan to visit Rehoboth Beach.

The reviews are correct. This place is awesome and a haven for those who like milk shakes, malts, or just a plain vanilla scoop of ice cream. We stumbled upon this place because we wanted to find something that could hold us until we got home due to the fact that we did not want to pay for a full meal. I noticed this HUGE crowd and I figured there had to be something special. There was. I have never seen this many flavors of ice cream, some sounded neat as in, hmmm...this could taste ok, some sounded like the norm that you would get on any given Sunday, and some just sounded plain nasty. The nasty ones were bacon ice cream (makes me want to throw up) and booger ice cream. We inadvertently made our way to the front as we were trying to see all of the other flavors they had and the people thought we were ready to order. We backed up and were like wait a minute, we can't even decide because there were so many. Apparently I was taking too long and I was told to just "hurry up and pick one" so I did. Nothing exotic for me or the hubby but the feeling we had when we saw all of those flavors reminded us of what it was like in college taking an exam. You see 20 questions that you did not study for and you just freeze and look around to see if everyone else is looking the same way you are. All the adults had the same stunned face. The only people who knew what they wanted were the kids of say 5 and under. It was so good and when we go back we will be getting more ice cream - who knows, maybe we'll try something exotic .

I was really looking forward to picking one of the many crazy flavors. It is fun looking at all the choices. I chose two different scoops in one cup. Overall the ice cream was good but not great. I was a little disappointed and wanted it to taste better.

Visited this place again this year and was very disappointed with my experience. As always the ice cream flavors were top notch and unique. However the service was sub par...My sister was told that they didn't have change to give her, and went on to serve other customers, and I was over charged by about $5 - $6, but didn't realize it until it was too late. All in all great Ice cream but I recommend checking your change and keeping your receipt, if paying by card. I will seriously reconsider coming here next time!

BACON ICE CREAM!!! Playdoh ice cream, booger ice cream, sweet corn ice cream... Insisted that our friend drive an hour out of the way (from Ocean City) to try the bacon icecream! T'was GOOD! Had it w a scoop of sweet corn and serendipitously made breakfast/dinner/dessert cone! YUM! salted caramel is yummy too

So overwhelming! How does a girl who loves ice cream choose just ONE out of a list of SEVENTY? They had some crazy flavors here like bacon, play-doh, looks like viagra, thunder and lightning, and motor oil. I was so boring and got mint chip moose tracks. My husband was even worse when he asked for orange sherbet! Perhaps I should have gone with the flavor called "I can't decide." (Yes, that is an actual flavor.)

  • Kate H.

If you are yearning for a totally unique ice cream experience, you've come to the right place. Get in the long line, browse the flavor board and dare to try something new. The flavors here are diverse -- mint with oreo and cookie dough; black cherry vanilla; rum raisin; peanut butter with brownies; African vanilla and dark chocolate thunder were just a few of the ones enjoyed by our group. Beyond those, the menu branches out to a little more imaginative flavors, like "Better than Sex", "Looks like Viagra" and "Booger". Not to be missed during a visit to Rehoboth!

  • Ian L.

There has to be at least 100 flavors of ice cream, some I've never even knew existed! It was a complicated decision to choose between Crack and Better Than Sex (I felt weird asking what exactly this flavor was) ice cream, but 10 minutes and several samples later, I chose Better Than Sex. Easily one of the best servings of ice cream I've ever had!

Long lines but super quick service. Offer samples. Tried the ghost pepper chile with a side of coconut. Signing the waiver was a bit of a nuisance with a huge crowd close to closing and not really necessary...so minus a star.

This place is incredible. It has all the flavors you can imagine. There's some flavors that stick out like Bacon, Booger, Better Than Sex, and Cookie Monster, just to name a few. They don't really have a line so it's hard to get there, but it's worth the wait. Some of my favorite flavors are Serious Chocolate Addiction and Cookie Monster. Other good flavors include Buttery Salted Caramel and Mayan Chocolate. E. (Ten years old.)

When I'm on the boardwalk and I want Ice Cream, this is the place I visit. I'll tell you, it takes a lot to make me walk past Kohr Bros, but the quality, service and variety makes this place a winner. I can go back time and time again, and find a new ice cream flavor that I love every single visit. Don't pass this one up.

Not your typical ice cream place! Lots and lots of flavors to pick from. Everything from the usual (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry) to the unusual (fresh corn, I can't decide, bacon.) I played it safe, I have to say. But there's certainly something here for everyone!

My only successful meal in Delaware! Yes, I consider ice cream a meal. I had the peanut butter brownie. Peanut butter-y, chocolate-y, chewy, smooth, cold. Delicious. I wish I lived next door.

I think your experience here really depends on the flavor you get. We sampled five in one weekend. The standout ones were Buttery Salted Caramel and Samoa. Better than Sex didn't quite live up to its name, and the Fluffer Nutter was just very, very sweet, with no discernible peanut butter or marshmallow flavor shining through. I also got the Peanut Butter Tastykake which was good, but not amazing. Definitely worth stopping by to see how many flavors you can knock off in your time at the beach.

Get it right after lunch when it's hecka hot-- conveniently right next to da boardwalk and the candy shop :O) Sampled all the weird flavors and ended up with the mango gelati-- my friends got something pistachio and better than sex, which they all enjoyed. and last but not least, booger tasted like cold caramel marshmallows! nuff said.

How about a "booger" sundae? That's what I ordered. Not sorry I did either. I'm not sure what was in that but it was delish. They offer free samples, so try something different.

The best ice cream ever!! So many choices, the staff is very nice, you can taste as many flavors as you'd like. The bacon is my fav, the death by chocolate is a close second. Skip the sprinkles, they are self serve, and it just seems gross to me.

If you're an indecisive person, The Ice Cream Store is your worst nightmare. They have 15 flavors of soft serve alone, and the number of hand dipped flavors they have makes Baskin Robbins look lazy for merely creating 31 flavors. Food stuffs - I was overwhelmed by all the different flavors so I asked the lady who was taking my order what was good and she recommended the better than sex. That's what she said. Really, it is. Cake batter ice cream, pieces of a Heath bar, and some other stuff. Was it really better than sex? Not by itself. But when combined with the awesome power of funnel cake, every woman will likely want to cuddle and every guy will likely want to go to sleep immediately afterwards. $3.50 for a regular soft serve or hand dipped $3.75 for a regular homemade hand dipped $4.25 for a large soft serve or hand dipped. The regular was a decent size. There was also a table to the left with various sprinkles and other candies for you to top your ice cream with. Service - There is no line. Instead, there was a mob of people waiting for the cashier. I was right by the door looking at some of the flavors and this girl comes out and says, "May I help you?" Location - Located right next to Top Dog, which has the cheapest funnel cake on the boardwalk. So for just under $8, you can have an experience that's better than sex and without any regrets the next morning. Well, other than lamenting the fact that you're fatter today than you were yesterday.

Really really good ice creams. I love their pecan and coconut ice creams for sure. Don't ask them to put walnut on your ice cream as they seem to be really old and spoils your ice cream.

Awesome! Entirely too many flavors to choose from, but that is what makes this place incredible. Quantity & quality-the best of both. Try all of the crazy flavors-they are worth it!

I probably spent more time reading the ice cream flavors than I did window shopping all along Rehoboth Ave. They have an amazing 70-something flavors, which range from your normal fruit, chocolate, mint etc. to "chocolate covered bacon" (which was surprisingly delicious - vanilla and tiny tiny bits of bacon - great salty sweet combo) and "tastes like chicken" (you have to try it just to say you've tried it - but I dare you to order it and finish the scoop!). I am not an ice cream lover, but I ordered a scoop of their Snickers ice cream! Soooooo good. The staff here is very friendly and are more than happy to give us a taste of everything!

Focus on the homemade ice creams posted on the far left. They are wonderful! Samples are available and appreciate the line, it will take you that long to decide what flavor you want.

this place is like the overwhelming touristy novelty of the cheesesteak in philadelphia. offensive flavors like "better than sex" and "crack" are repeated on the never ending flavor lists plastered everywhere visible. but yeah, it was delicious.

  • John R.

What is even more amazing than the mind boggling range of offerings they have is the blistering efficient service they provide. While customers mingle at the window wondering what to get the people inside actively seek out people ready to order or otherwise need help. The seemingly long lines go fast and for me the extra thick vanilla shake (okay, I am boring on the flavor and creation!) is the best I can find anywhere, period.

This place gets five stars for their selection and variety. Never before or since have a seen an ice cream shop with so many different types of ice cream--especially ones this unique. Sure, you can get your standard chocolate and vanilla. You can get rocky road and cookie dough. You can also get bacon, motor oil, and beer flavored ice cream. I wish I had time to try every flavor. No matter what time of day, this place is always busy. If you come to Rehoboth Beach, visit The Ice Cream Store and try something new. I've never seen any other place like it.

Bizarre and amazing selection of awesome flavors. I had one called a scorpion sting, served with a real scorpion on top.

hundreds of different options for ice cream, shakes, smoothes, mix ins, toppings, etc. The "better than sex" ice cream is INDEED better than sex. Go here, despite its silly name.

Wow. The Ice Cream Store has a massive selection of flavors. I mean it's truly gargantuan. And they're not your run of the mill flavors either. I mean sure there's vanilla and chocolate, but you've got weird stuff too. And by weird I mean bacon-flavored (get a sample of it). I got the playdough flavor. It didn't taste like playdough thankfully, but it was quite tasty nonetheless. The playdough name mostly comes from its appearance: yellow with small bits of stuff inside of it that's red or blue, kinda like how your playdough would always end up contaminated with the other colors of playdough. Great little ice cream joint.

The staff is is fun and indulgent, offering up samples of fun flavors with a smile and a quick personal review. Not the greatest ice cream in town, but the location can't be beat and the choices are entertaining.

Awesome ice cream! And they have so many flavors you can't even begin to choose, they even have wacky stuff like play-doh and a bacon flavored ice cream. I asked to try the peanut butter cup ice cream while my oreo shake was being made and the girl let me sample every kind of peanut butter ice cream they had which was 4 I think. My shake was good, but I should have asked for a vanilla shake with oreos instead of an oreo shake, because I got a shake made with oreo ice cream. I prefer it made the other way, but I didn't know so that isn't going to keep me from going back, and it was still good. The prices for ice cream and shakes were good, my shake was $4.75 and it was pretty big, I split it with my husband. They start they day with a huge free sprinkles display though its usually gone by the time we are ready for ice cream. Tonight we are stopping by to try scoops of ice cream in their homemade waffle bowls.

2nd time around and it only got better. new flavors in only 1 month's time which is awesome to see, especially as fall approaches. i asked for ooey gooey, which was a great and very "cake-y" flavor but for some reason its price is a little different than the others so i went for 3 flavors instead of 2 in the waffle bowl. again this presented a small downside cause of the melting and mixing of flavors, but i was prepared so immediately i spread the 3 flavors out in the take home like plastic container. i also got booger and playdough which were both great. honestly you may look at booger and not want it at all, but it is one of the best flavors ever. i believe it was a cake like batter ice cream, dyed green, with some sort of syrup (either butterscotch or caramel to give it the booger look) and added in were lucky charms marshmallows...honestly DO NOT be afraid to try it. next time i'm there i may just got for it on it's own. also tried the playdough which was cake like batter with some kind of multicolored candies inside. finally the table of sprinkles on the side were awesome...basic all you can eat and in about 15 different shapes! lastly, the newest flavor they had was strawberry oreo which i can't believe i missed when ordering but i could see it being delicious. top flavors: booger and thunder & lightning

This place serves pretty good ice cream just steps away from the boardwalk. The ice cream is made at a local diary farm (not onsite, but then again there is probably not enough room to make it onsite) in a lot of different and interesting flavors. The free sprinkles "bar" is a nice touch as are the free samples. The store doesn't have any seating but there are outdoor benches nearby. Although this store has the best ice cream in Rehoboth, it's no better than what you get at a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop and is more expensive ($4 a scoop).

After a few days in Ocean City, Maryland, my boyfriend and I drove up the coast en route back to Pittsburgh and decided to check out the infamous Rehobeth Beach area. My god! We should've come here and will definitely return! In addition to its quaint shops and atmosphere, we came across The Ice Cream Store and it being a hot day, we decided to grab a cone. First off, it looks overwhelming and you think "there is no way in hell that they have all of these different flavors!" BUT THEY DO! I walked up and said I wanted the Peanut Butter Pretzel and the girl looked at me like I said I wanted to eat a pile of dog poop. She immediately said "no you don't...here try this" and ran off and fetched me 3 different samples of peanut butter flavored ice cream. I picked Peanut Butter Overload (at least I think that was the name) and boy was it the best! Smooth and creamy with a thick peanut butter ribbon throughout. Sometimes when you get peanut butter ice cream it doesn't *really* taste like peanut butter but not this one! When my boyfriend stepped up and said he wanted a coffee flavor, her eyes lit up like Christmas morning and ran off with a handful of spoons. She came back with 5 different samples. He ended up with the All Nighter - coffee ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough! Seriously do yourself a favor, skip Kohr's and Dairy Queen and give all your ice cream dollars here. We will be back!

If you're craving ice cream, and happen to be in the Rehoboth Beach area, then this is the place you should go. They have an insane amount of flavors, a lot of which you won't find anywhere else. The flavor I got was called Chocolate I Don't Give A Fork, and it was delicious. It's milk chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips, cookie dough, brownies, pretzels, and crushed oreos. Other flavor they have include Zombie, Booger, Ghost Pepper!, Lucky Charms, My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Store, African Vanilla, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Pumpkin Pecan, etc. You have to go to the website and checkout the flavors list. It is a little pricey, but the place is located on a beach boardwalk so you can't expect anything different. I believe it was around $4-$5 for a small, but so worth it. Make sure to check this place out if you get the chance.

This is it. This is a hit. It has 4.5 stars right now, and it deserves them. This is ice cream heaven. They make their own flavors... And they live up to the "cream" part of "ice cream". The ice cream here is very creamy, and the flavors are bold and live up to whatever it is they happen to be called. There are an array of toppings, an array of flavors, cones or bowls, and you can even get your ice cream on a waffle. Oh, and they have ghost pepper ice cream, which you have to sign a waiver to try or buy. All-in-all, it lives up to the hype. Don't let the huge crowd of people at night scare you off... It may be hard to read the signs and all, but service is still super fast and efficient.

Have you ever been to an ice cream parlor with more than 100 flavors? Oh well, this ice cream parlor will bring you overjoy. They are known for serving homemade ice cream. From tasting it, I agreed with it. Their choices are unique, creative, flavorful, tasty and inviting. A scoop is the appropriate serving. If you ask for 2 scoops, it will be too much unless you really have a sweet tooth. Pricing is above comparably. Is it the location or what they are trying to sell. Come and try yourself. Worth stopping by. It will just made your summer day!

Really good ice cream can be found at the Ice Cream Store. I first heard about this store from the Food Network. Although I chickened out from trying the Ghost Pepper ice cream, I did try their Ooey Gooey, Creamy Strawberry, African Vanilla, Milk Chocolate Crack. All were freaking awesome! I will definitely come back whenever I visit Rehoboth Beach. It's a must not a maybe. I am intrigued and interested in trying their Bacon, Corn, Catching Fire, and Booger flavors in the future.

This ice cream parlor has so many flavors that it's overwhelming. I think it's the only store that has a huge crowd in front of it throughout the night, you'd certainly find it. I tried a variation of cookie dough, forgot what it called, but it was really good. Go see for yourself. And go during the day or early evening if you don't wanna wait forever.

Creamy, unique, and homemade ice cream for a good price! I wish I were here for a few more days just to sample more of the intriguing flavors. I ordered two scoops in a cup, one flavor each: the famed "Crack" flavor, and "Death by Peanut Butter." Each flavor was super rich (both combined were a meal for me) and enjoyable. Next time I'd totally go for the ghost pepper flavor (which requires the requester to be at least 18 and sign a waiver)!

I died and went to dark chocolate heaven with their homemade flavor: "Serious Chocolate Addiction!" Ice cream can be expensive at Rehoboth Beach, usually costing $4.50 or more. For this price you should spend it on something special. This place has 100 different ice cream flavors and everything is home made. They've also got funky names of some of them, like "Motor Oil," "Bacon," and "Better Than Sex," LOL. The service was great too. There was a huge crowd, but they have alot of servers who will even leave the stand to come into the crowd to get your order. We will definitely recommend this place to our family and friends.

Fantastic!! Went on a afternoon so no line and the server let us try unlimited samples! We didn't even ask she just suggested ones once we said what we liked. The chocolate I don't give a fork was to die for. So was death by peanut butter!!

This is my favorite ice cream shop at the beach. They have the best menu with a ton of flavors. They have Booger ice cream as well as Better than Sex ice cream. Two of my favorites are Samoa and serious Chocolate Addiction. They even have an ice cream with Ghost Pepper. The best part is that they let you taste as many as you want.
